Daniel was baptized at St. James Church in Charlestown, County Mayo. Daniel had seven brothers and sisters, Margaret, Ann, Maria, Kate, Liz, William and Bridget. Sister Ann married Owen Moran and moved to the US where she had nine children. While your Ann cannot be my Ann, I believe that there might be a connection in our families. Daniel's grandparents were Luke and Mary Doyle. Not all of Daniel's sisters came to the US. Those that did come to the US settled in Jersey City, NJ.

Hi, Thanks for posting this bio on a 2nd cousin of my father. Every little piece helps to put the puzzle together. Any other Doyle/Sheridan info from Grant County is appreciated. I did my Doyle family genealogy a few years back and need to update it. I've seen stranger things happen. Last night I found two Sarah TUCKERS on 1850 TN census of the right age. Giles Co. TN In the household of Martha WILLIAMS; TUCKER, Allen 24 Elizabeth 19 Frances 18 Sarah 18 John 15 Do you know if there is a Methodist connection? That could help with your research, they kept pretty good records. I'll keep looking through my stuff to see if I find anything. "Hey.......My GGGRandfather was a RUFUS JOHN DOYLE b.1834 in Estill Co, KY died in the Civil War Dec 3, 1862. Some of his kinfolk were named John, Martin, Newton & William. My GGGGrandfather Dr. John B. Logsdon married a Sarah Ann Tucker from TN, she was born in 1832. Wonder what the chances are they might be related. Dont have any data on either. Know some of the Logsdon went dont to TN, AL, MS during the war and some went to MO to escape it. Please let me know if any of this is even close as I cant tie any of them together. Martin lived in Logan Co, KY which is like 5-10 miles from the state line. Steve in Indy" Let me know if you can relate to anything. Local area is Mystic. Owasco isn't on my Rand McNalley map, but if you go to Google, there are quite a few sites for it. There are also Owasco places in several other states, like NY, for one.
I sent out an SOS yesterday asking what W.S. meant when used for the place of birth. You have all been so wonderful. I contacted Mary and she is in the process of moving and is having trouble finding the census this was on. But she sent me what she could find and I am copying it to this email. If she finds the census she will send it to me. I hope this helps. God Bless Char labecaly@msn.com Mary's email follows: Doggone it anyway. I am moving, and stuff is packed. Thanks for your patience.
I am hoping someone could help me help a fellow genealogy searcher. I have copied the email she sent me. Hopefully someone knows what W.S. stands for, if not any suggestions? I was wondering if you could help me with a problem on my husband's side. His grandmother, according to the census takers, was born in W.S. I thought maybe Wisconsin, but no. Do you have any idea of what W.S. could be? Thanks. Char labecaly@msn.com

Primrose. His death certificate records his birthplace as Detroit, Mich. and parents as Wm Doyle and Nellie Primrose. Most everything I know of him is very vague. Other than his second marriage record and death certificate, I've never located any records of him, his parents, first marriage, or his children from the first marriage. I've never even been able to find him on any censuses from 1880-1920. Can't help you with facts, but all this seems logical. HE was most likely the one who filled out the marriage license, so the information is probably more accurate. Someone else filled out the death cert, so it is second-hand info. Ann or Annie was probably his mom's given name, and Nellie her nickname. As for census lists, IF he didn't fall through the cracks by perhaps not having a permanent home somewhere, how would you even know where to look just in case some census taker had gotten his info while he was in a town and not traveling on census day(s)? That would be like shooting a moving target that you didn't even know was out there. Ruthie
