The earliest ancestor I have is James born in c1800 who married Hannah Sorrells, and had 7 children - James, William, Anne, George, Thomas, Emma and Eliza. Thomas is my great great grandfather, and he immigrated here to Australia in 1861 with his wife, Mary Ann Peckham. Apparently there are many Dowsett's in our tree, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we are connected in some way. I have some relatives here in Victoria who are also indirectly related, so I will email them and see if we can come up with anything that might be related to your family.
