I noticed that you had the marriage certificate which stated that Samuel's father was James and that he was a carpenter. Did it mention Samuel's occupation? Also I found a James Dowsett b. 1769 had either married Elisabeth Edgars, Sarah Theobald or Ann Underhill, or maybe more than one of them.
