Joseph DOWSETT born c1810 St Georges, Middx - married to Elizabeth from Whitechapel. In 1851 living in Mile End Old Town, working as a dock labourer. Children were Edward, George (1839), James, Martha, Charles, William and Henry. Son George LANGBRIDGE(1839) married an Elizabeth Rhoda BURCHELL (born in Bristol c1838) (His father is named as Joseph LANGBRIDGE - dock labourer). In 1861 they are living in West Ham - calling themselves LANGBRIDGE. In 1871 they are in Camberwell, Surrey (still LANGBRIDGE). In 1881 they are in Battersea - and calling themselves DOWSETT again. Their children were George, Joseph Henry, Edward, Emily Elizabeth, Caroline, George, Charles and Kate. George(1839) was a Lamp Black Labourer in 1861, a Printing Ink Maker/Manufacturer in 1871, and a Railway Engine Driver in 1881. Emily Elizabeth and Caroline both married as LANGBRIDGES in a double wedding in 1888. Emily married a PENNIALL, Caroline married SMITH. Has anyone come across this family in their research? Helen
