My great, great, great grandfather was Samuel Dowsett, originally from England. He came to Hawaii in the early 1800's with his wife Mary Bishop, also from England. They had many children one of them was James Isaac Dowsett who married Annie Green Ragsdale. Annie's mother was a hawaiian princess her name was Keikipauahi and her mother was one of the queens of Hawaii, her name was Kahawalu. I was just given the "Dowsett" bible (1816) and a painting of a Dowsett woman that goes back to the 1750's. I'm sure we're all related.
