    2. Let me mention here that it is always a good idea to check out the USGenWeb sites for the counties involved. I know -- I have posted on several and never heard a word. OTOH, I posted a question on one site on a Sunday and by Monday I had all the information I needed and more. By the end of the week a guy in Colorado had mailed me hard copies of the information! Bottom line is you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain by posting. In general the web site coordinators are not required to update the query page more than once a month but most update at least once a week, probably on the weekends. Many of these volunteers hold down full time jobs, have families, etc.. so weekends are their best time. [I try to post as soon as I get them but it doesn't always happen.] You can always check to see if your query has been posted. Roots-L also has a clearing house for people searching for various surnames. That list comes out once a month. My surnames are on it and I get a lot of queries, did find one piece of information that way.
