Hi, I just joined the list and I thought I would post my Downings to see if anyone is researching the same line. Mary and her son Thomas came from Kenmore Co., Kerry, Ireland when Thomas was a little boy (4 or 5). They came through NY and possibly stayed there for a little while before coming down south. They ended up in Savannah GA. It is my understanding that it is possible that Thomas may have opened a store with his brother, but I'm not sure about that. Thomas married Bridget Carmody from Kilrush Co., Clare, Ireland. They were married in NY. Is anyone researching this line, or can anyone help?
