My grandfather said the Downings were Quakers from PA. We've never found anything to back that up but have kept in mind. Now I hear from a lady researching Downings who says her mother said the Downings were from PA and were Quakers. [I haven't found a connection to this lady either.] This got me thinking. Is it possible that Tim the Tory was a Quaker?
