For Cheryl Cossey, I saw your line from Benjamin down on the list, and wanted to ask if you had come across anything more on the Francis Downing family in Kentucky. They settled in Harford and Scott counties. You may have communicated with me before concerning this subject. But I'm still looking for info. Especially am I looking for Powhatan, called Puck, Downing, one of the youndger sons of Francis. A Maryland researcher assures me that all the male line of Francis left Maryland abt 1790 or 91 for KY. I have found a couple of Puck's keds in Davies Co., MO; but I haven't found him. His son, Morean, is another one that is very hard to find. After he left Daviess Co. bef 1860, I don't know where he went. I presume he left Davies Co., as he was not found on any census record after the 1850. You'd think these Downings were backward, or shy, or something. A lot of them seem to have left no trail.
