Effectively immediately all Rootsweb mailing lists, including Downing and ILLogan are closed. This means that if you aren't subscribed to the list you cannot post to the list. This action was taken due to the large volume of spam floating around and being sent to the lists. READ THIS: In practical terms it means if you want to post you must subscribe [subscriptions are available] BUT it means that you must always post from the address under which you subscribed. If you only have one email address you have no problem. I and many others have more than one so we will have to exercise a bit more care in making sure we post from the subscribed address. If you post from an unsubscribed address your message will bounce. I hope that is clear.
