Okay, you DOWNING experts, I need help on these Downings: who are they? to whom do they belong? John P. Downing married Miss Ellen W. Hudgun, of Caroline County, VA, Aug 18, 1852. The I found a John P. Downing who diedat Red Sulphur Springs on Oct 4, 1856, also of Caroline Co., at 83 yrs of age. Are these the same of two different John P. Downings? Married in 1852 at abt 80 and died in 1856? Makes me think they must be two different men. Also, I found a Samuel W. Downing, of the US Navy, who married Eliza H. Clark, daughter of John Clark a member of Congress from NY, Mar 22, 1838, in Baltimore, VA. And one more: I found a Ruth Downing who married Rees Beanson Mar 17, 1802 in Berkely Co., VA.
