She was also married to an Eli Mullinix and they had a lot of kids. I found no Thursa C. Culver, but depending on where you got these names they could be the same person and one source used her maiden name and the other used her surname from a previous marriage. I found one Charles Loren Downing, but he was born 40 years to late. I looked on my IGI for Missouri and I found record of a Charles L. Downing married to a Thusa I. Richesson on 15 Mar 1883 in Daviess Co. There were two Virginia Downings, but the father was listed as James on one, and James and Mary on the other. They were both dated in the 1840-50's. In looking at the 1860 Federal Missouri Census, I noticed that in a connecting four county area there were twelve Downings listed. that would be from Grundy Co. to Clinton Co. with DeKalb and Daviess in between of them. Quite a concentration of Downings considering that this was before the Civil War. Well I pretty much struck out! Maybe the marriage date helps? Have any DFHSA members seen a newsletter since Feb. of 98? Jim Downing Sarasota, FL
