Just a reminder, this book is not error free. It starts out with John Downing [mine] and states he was a Revolutionary War vet. He wasn't. That John Downing is another line altogether. It is true she managed to temporarily convince the DAR that he was but they know better now. Nothing wrong with checking that book but don't consider it an authority. Think of it as a compilation of information, accurate and not accurate, in one place.
