West Virginia, 22 Feb. 1840, I do not know when he came to Ohio. Although he did join Company "E" 113 Regiment Ohio Vol Infy., 22 Aug.1862, Urbana Ohio, by (it looks like ) H.N. Benjamin. He was married to my GGrandmother Millecent Lucretia Nye at Port Clinton, Ohio in the year 1869, they lived around Port Clinton, or Lacarne Ohio until 1889, when they bought a farm in White Co. Indiana and moved to Indiana in the year 1889. John and Millecent had six children. Laura May, b. 10 March 1873,George Newton,27 Oct.1874,John Wesley Hayes, 23 Nov 1876,Daisy Lenora , 20 Nov. 1880, Elmer J. (my Grandfather), 23 May, 1883 and Ora Viola, 15 July 1890. My GGGrandfather Orwell E. Nye, b.8 Nov. 1808, Mentor, Ohio. I do not know who his parent were. Orwell died in White Co. Indiana in 1892, also buried there, near Reynolds, Indiana. My GGGrandmother, Orwell's wife was Eunice Downing, b. 4 Dec. 1812, in the state of New York. Her parents were William Downing and Lucy Butts. They were married at Painsville, Ohio in the year 11 April 1833. Orwell and Eunice had 3 children, Edwin Fayette Nye, 14 July 1834, Emeritt Marilla Nye, b. 7 May 1839, and my GGrandmother Melecent Lucretia Nye b. 8 May 1851. I am trying to find out who were the parents of John Henry Johnson, or any relative, when he came to Ohio, and where, when he left West Virginia. I am also trying to find out who were Orwell Nye's Parents, and any relatives here and about.
