Surnames: PEGAN, DOWNING, Herran, Lusk, Caldwell, Penny, Maffet, Jacks Classification: Will Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AUT.2ACEB/1263 Message Board Post: Andrew Pegan, decd. }} IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I, Andrew Pegan, Sr, of Martick Township, Lancaster County and state of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being mindfull of Mortality and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make this my last Will and Testament in the manner following that is to say, recommending my soul to the Hands of God that gave it, nothing doubting, but that I will have the same again by the mighty power of God at the day of the Great Resurrection and for my Body I recommend the same to the Earth to be buried in a Christian and decent like manner at the direction of my Executors, and I do order that all my just debts and other my funeral charges be duly paid and for all my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in the following manner. I give and bequeath to my well beloved Son, John Pegan the one half of my part of the Stock, such as Cows sheep and hogs, likewise eight pounds lawfull Money to be paid of the Land one year and half a! fter my decease, likewise my large Poot [Pot] and little Walnut table. I give and bequeath to my well beloved son James Pegan, the whole land I now live on with all the Horses and his half of the moveable stock such as cows, sheep, and hogs now in his Possession. I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Andrew Pegan, the other half of my part of cows, sheep and hogs with all my wearing or Body cloths [clothes]. I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Jean Lusk, the sum of seven shilling and six pence. I give and bequeath to my well beloved Daughter Margaret Herran, the one half of my Puter [Pewter] and to my Granddaughter Ann Herran, the other half of the Puter [Pewter]; to wit, four dishes and twelve plates to be equally divided between them both. I give and bequeath to my well beloved Daughter Mary Downing, the sum of seven shilling and six pence. I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter Ann Pegan, daughter to son James Pegan, my Father [feather] Bed and Bed Clo! ths such as Rugs and Blankets. And do hereby nominate and appoint my t wo trusty Friends, John Caldwell and James Pegan, my son, to be my Executors of this my last Will and Testament ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this ninth day of September, Anno Domini 1788. his Andrew A Pegan <seal> mark Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Andrew Pegan the Testator as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, the Subscribers. s/ Hugh Penny; s/ John Maffet Lancaster County ss: On the thirteenth day of January Anno Domini 1789, before me personally appeared Hugh Penny and John Maffet, the two subscribing Witnesses to the above and foregoing Will and on their Solemn Oath by uplifted hand respectively did depose and say that they were present and saw and heard Andrew Pegan the Testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce, and declare the said above writing as and for his last Will and Testament, and that at the doing thereof, he was of sound and well deposing Mind, Memory, and Understanding, to the best of their Knowledge, Observation, and Belief. s/ James Jacks, Regr. Be It Remembered that on the thirteenth day of January Anno Domini 1789, the last Will and Testament of Andrew Pegan, late of Martick Township has been approved in due form of Law and Letters of Testamentary therein were granted to John Caldwell and James Pegan, the Executors therein named, they being fit and truly qualified well and truly to administer the Estate of the Decd. and especially to Exhibit a true and perfect Inventory thereof into the Registrars Office at Lancaster within one Month from this date and to render a just and true account of their Administration on the said Estate within one year or when thereunto lawfully required.
