Nadine was born Nov. 22, 1920 in Picher, OK to James and Audrey Farmer. She moved to Webb City 15 years ago after many years in Wichita. She volunteered at Christ the King School and the Dodge School, both in Wichita. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Wichita. Nadine married Earl Downing Oct. 20, 1945 in Ponca City, OK. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1978. Survivors include son, Michael and wife, Gayle of Broomfield, CO; daughters, Pat Waggoner and husband, David of Park Rapids, MN, Mary Jo Gray of Freemont, NC; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel in Webb City. A Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Wichita with Father Andy Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Wichita. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers including, Daniel Downing, Christin Barnes, Debra Bannerman, Theresa Downing, Ed Waggoner, Andrew Downing, Nancy Waggoner, and Scott Gray. The visitation in Wichita will be from 1 until service time Monday at the church. The family has requested memorial contributions to St. John's Hospice Program in c/o the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City."
