Do you know what's stranger than the UFO theory? When I first started looking at my ex-husbands (I emphasize the EX) Downing ancestors, I traced his mother's side and his father side and both sides led back to the same couple son four generations earlier. That couple was William and Malinda. At first I thought I messed up some place, so I laid it out on a chart and sure enough, both side led back to William and Malinda. Fortunately my kids seem pretty normal. I'm researching the Downing line for them. I certainly hope you find the missing link for Timothy but some of the finest Downing researchers haven't been able to find it.
