The funny thing -- the Murphy's Law corrolary -- comes due to my line, that of Thomas Downing, after whom Downingtown, PA, is named. Amazingly, this line has been thoroughly documented in Futhey & Cope; "Genealogy of the Palmer-Trimble Families", "Genealogy of the Smedley Family"; and even recently in Jane Davidson's fine work, "History of Downingtown". The line can be traced back to Bradninch, Devonshire, England, in 1530. But no one else on this board is connected to the line. Sigh. I can't share all the wonderful documentation I have. Murphy's Law #2057: "If you know who your ancestors are, no one else is related to you."
