    3. Dear Donna, Well we are at our daughter Karen's home and waiting for the weekend to attend Alex's graduation. The weather was great until two days ago, then it was rain, thunder and lightning. Hopefully it will clear up by the weekend. I am not sure how long we will be here, but we have to be in Southern California before the 14th. We were not affected by the flooding, but the rivers were all running high with the warm weather. We stop the second night in Park City, Utah. Across the highway you could see the ski jump areas and some of the downhill runs. The day spent at Dinosaur National Park was very interesting. They have put a building around the wall of bones and have cleared the sandstone from around the bones to show them in relief. The bones were washed down the river and deposited in a sand bar, then covered by layers and layers of earth. When the mountains were formed, the layer with the bones was tilted up and the weather exposed them. We also went to see a pioneer woman's ranch back in the wilds of the park. She lived there in the 1930's and had quite a spread. It seemed to be an ideal location with box canyons to hold her stock. Good grass and water. The one problem was the isolation. We spent one day here at the Bolder Boulder celebration. It is a 3 day celebration along Boulder Creek in Boulder. There were bands, food booths, venders, exhibits and people. We went early Sunday morning and by the time the rains came it had become very crowded. Monday they had the marathon, but we didn't go to see it because we expected rain. The rains didn't come until evening though. Everyone is off to work or school and I am waiting for Elaine to come up. We will do a little exploring by ourselves today. Just got a look at Molly, their new Collie puppy. Nick taped her ears and they look a little funny. I guess you have to tape their ears to shape them for show. She is a very loving dog. Riley and Freddie have had a falling out over a bread stick and would probably kill one or the other. Freddie seems to hold a grudge and even this morning was growling at Riley. I guess our dogs are not welcome anymore and will have to be kept separate. Well, I hope all is well at your home. Will try to keep in touch as we have links. Take care. Ted
