I have a copy of a newspaper page with an item regarding Joseph Downing of Downingtown. It was published in the Adams Sentinel - (Gettysburg, PA) March 6, 1822. There was a very bad flood in the area of Downingtown in March, 1822, with much damage, loss, and loss of lives. Column 3 mentions that Joseph Downing's cattle were saved from drowning.
