I agree the William Downing and Letitia Huff is probably in no way connected to my Joseph's line. As I recall, that William Downing was in Lancaster (or York?) County, PA, and died there? I do believe I found his will there, but just don't recall? I know I got his DAR or SAR papers, and had that info. Strictly my memory, and could be wrong. I know I looked long and hard at that couple, and convinced myself there was no connection. I know the DAR Patriot Index gives the OH death, but think I proved that wrong? Again, from memory only. As you know, I have read all the tax records for Francis Woodward, as well as deeds and other County records in VA---and can't even show descent of his land. It was apparently assumed by his son's widow and grandchildren that did not go on west to TN.
