I joined the Downing society, and did receive the newsletter, but no one was looking for the Downing line I'm related to. I want Henry Downing/Airy Hitch, (MD-VA-MO). My last email I ended with What do know?? I haven't a clue what I meant by that. My research has been on the Littleton and Matheny lines as well as the Downing. The Littleton's and Matheny"s all seem to be related eventually but these Downings are all over the place. Is there an original Downing line that came to this country and from where (England and or ???). Who are the earliest Downing's we have documented in this country? Where did they settle? Is there anyone that is the keeper of this kind of information? A couple years ago I sent $18 to someone to subscribe to a Downing newsletter. The check was cashed but I never received anything.
