    3. I am agreeablr to take part in the tests for $99.00. Clyde W. Downing ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynda Roberts" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2004 9:08 AM Subject: [DOWNING] DOWNING DNA PROJECT > OK, if there are six male volunteers, I will set up the project and act as the administrator. As soon as I get all the information from the DNA site which I sent previously, I'll let you all know. It is $99 for a male to be tested and those males have to be direct descendants of Downing males. So far, the following people have volunteered: > > Clyde Downing > Daniel Downing > Maria's Uncle (name unknown) > Anthony Downing > Ray Downing > > Would the afore mentioned gentlemen please confirm that you are on board with this? If there is one more male willing to participate, let me know and I'll proceed. Remember that the more participants there are, the greater the chances for finding matches. > > Lynda Roberts > Virginia > ----- Original Message ----- > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Sent: Saturday, February 21, 2004 9:01 PM > Subject: DNA > > > Lynda- > > Why don't you be the project administrator?? I think I have two male Downings that would do it and we just need four more. If you do it and we get three from the Downing list then we can get this thing going. > > Maria > > > ==== DOWNING Mailing List ==== > To unsubscribe in list mode send a message with UNSUBSCRIBE as the subject to [email protected] To unsubscribe in digest mode send a message with UNSUBSCRIBE as the subject to [email protected] >

    3. Just a little input re the DNA project. I see that many family groups are doing this and it has been going on for some time. My cousin's husband participated in the HULL DNA project, and he found that he descends from a progenitor in England in the 1500s. Of course, it leaves those of us out who were not born Downing and are not male, but I think it will help a lot of searchers to get back as far as possible. Even though I can't participate, I would be very interested in the results! Marlene
