DOWNING of Pittsburgh, PA, in a biography for a James CALLERY; James Callery was married to the sister of John E. Downing, but the biography does not state her name nor any other info about her or her brother, John E. Downing. Would anybody happen to know who the parents are of John E. Downing and his sister, and of course, his sister's name? James Callery was a prominent citizen of his communities..Allegheny and Pittsburgh...born 1833, in County Roscommon, Ireland; President of the Pittsburgh and Western Railroad Company; Director and later, President, of City Savings Banks, owned several successful tannerys, held many other offices, directorships, etc. in several other kinds of companies. His wife, who survives him, is a sister of the late Mr. John E. Downing of Pittsburgh, and, like her honored husband, she has always been noted for her earnest piety and devotion to works of charity. Mr. Callery's family consisted of four children, all now living: viz., Mr. James Dawson Callery, for some years past the partner of his father in his extensive tanning industries, and the sole manager of this department of his business; Mr. William Callery, Mr. Charles Callery, and Miss Rose Callery.
