I do have a great deal of personal history information on Oscar from my family. He moved to PA to live with his son Herbert (my Grandfather), and died there. He is buried in the family plot, along with his wife Eva Crossman Downing, longtime Hempstead family residents. I have always known he was from Hempstead, and Herberts sister, my Aunt Olive, claimed the Downing family was from Hempstead for generations. I am really looking for something on Oscar's birth, christening. I will follow the Issac/Myrtie thread as well. I would be happy to share a photo of Oscar, his son Herbert Downing or even my Dad with you. I do not have a real "tree" on Ancestry. I sometimes add folks (right or wrong) to help with my research, but it is nothing valid, as I add and delete for my own needs.
