Attached is an explanation of the movements of John Downing starting in Frederick Co, Maryland in 1786. He's involved with Anne Arundel Co, Maryland families - Mansell, Brown and Porter. John Downing and brother-in-law Joshua Brown together with Samuel Porter move to Fayette Co, KY near Lexington about 1794. About 1807, John and Ruth Downing move to Butler Co, Ohio. They remain there until 1819 when John receives a Ohio Land Patent for land in Clark Co, Ohio. Please see the attached files for details.
