Downing, listed in your post as son of William Downing and Mary J. McMahan. I know for a fact that he was reared in Hawk Point, MO. My mother is Virginia Ann Downing, d/o George I., and her brother is George Downing. You have George I. listed as having a birthday of Jan. 1899, but I'm fairly certain he was born in June of 1899. If you have questions, I am certain my mother or my uncle could help answer them. One thing that puzzled me all these years is I was told that George I. Downing descended from someone that invented the Conestoga wagon, but once I researched this, it seems more likely to be the Abbott/Downing Coach builders they were referring to, but even then, I have been unable to prove or disprove the linkage.
