He is the Grandson of Chester Downing and Geneva Alzada Jones. My husband's mother is Carrie Esther Downing. Chester is the son of George Timothy Downing and Mary Elizabeth Schlosser, George is the son of David Downing and Marietta Dorsey. Anyway, Carrie has mentioned through the years that she had some Cherokee Indian blood in the family line. Does anyone have any information on this?
