Also the birth date of 23 Dec 1786 was given for Israel. Sources: "Maryland, Marriages, 1666-1970" and "Maryland, Births and Christenings, 1650-1995." I did not see any further christening records, perhaps they moved to Virginia after Israel was born. Ruth Mansell is sometimes recorded as Ruth Mansfield. Also living next door is Timothy (another Bezaleel son)and Rebecca Taylor. Geographically getting very close to Israel, but I have still found no tie between them. There is a Milton Downing born 1836 died 1861 buried at Tharp's Run Cemetery where Bezaleel and Matilda are buried, so seems almost certain they were related as it is a tiny cemetery. Bezaleel and Matilda were married in 1806, and the first child I have a record of is Nehemiah born 1813. Seems unlikely they didn't have kids for 7 years. I am guessing they had as many as 6 children born in MD. My speculation is that Milton and Matilda were the children of one of their unknown eldest sons, perhaps he and his wife died in Harrison County and their great Aunt Hester Jones took Milton and Matilda in?
