She was born on May 13, 1940 in Stettin, Germany to the late Fritz Hans Richard and Johanna Marie Elizabeth Friedrich Lemke. She was united in marriage on August 22, 1957 to Richard E. Downing who preceded her in death on April 28, 2010. Surviving are two sons: Donald Downing and Duane Downing both of Waverly, OH; three daughters: Diana Downing of Waverly, Joann Crabtree and husband Roger of Peebles, Ohio and Deborah Southers and husband Larry of Waverly; nine grandchildren: Susan Ahn, Timothy Helton, Kristina (Helton) Graham, Lina and Aaron Southers, Caleb, Kyle, Zack and Jacob Downing; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sigrid Foley and husband William of Carrollton, TX. Mrs. Downing was a retired seamstress, an avid bowler, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with David Burriss, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, on Denver Road. Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and Friday from 9:00-1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may made to the Arthur G.
