    3. To Piddie Bear--You must be related to my husband's Uncle Horace Downing, now deceased, of Wichita Falls Texas, who was the greatest teaser of all time. He wrote several small booklets of family reminicences that are filled with great stories and tall tales told by older members of the family--the best of which is the story of the deadly poisonous vinegarone. 3. Re: "Cat of Arms" I also have my husband's coat of arms, which includes a helmet and a griffon if I am not mistaken--Sue Hodnett, I am still not finished with the typing in of the Downing stuff I have. I would like to simply send it by snail mail but please send me your address--then you can decide what is what and perhaps tell me how we connect--I am sure we do--not we as in me, but my husband's Downings, who came to Texas and Oklahoma via Lexington Kentucky. 3. Hi All, In searching back through collateral lines of the COLBY family, I have come to a: Lydia WEBSTER, b:28Aug1764, Kingston, NH; d:VT; still living 10Aug1843; m:Jun1784, Newton, NH, to: Thomas COLBY, b:25Dec1757, Kingston, NH; d:12Jun1842, Danville, Caledonia, VT. I have an unconfirmed report which shows that the above Lydia WEBSTER is the daughter of Isaac WEBSTER and Sarah DOWNING, and no further information on the last two persons. I have searched the DOWNING-L archives for a likely such Sarah and Isaac, with negative results. I've also searched common on-line sources such as FTM, GenForum, GENDEX, Ancestry Wolrd Tree, etc. Any information on the above, or clues as where to go next, would be greatly appreciated. Brian
