Dot Jo I hear you way out in California, not much new with me, its still so hot, will be so glad when it cools for fall, and we need rain so bad. I have just gone out when I had to, this whole summer, grocery store & etc. Our genealogy society is going to So. Calif. Gen. Libary in Burbank,Ca. next month, hope I am going to feel like going. they have many many books, they have so many more in downtown Los Angeles, but we have not been there in 2-3 yrs, lots of our people are getting older, and its hard to get around and go on a 2 hr bus ride. If we don't get enough people to pay for the bus, the trip is canceled. You must be about finished with your canning. My mother in law and I used to do that every year also, a few years back. Mildred, Glad you heard me. LOL We have cooled down a lot here. WE haven't had much rain here but are not as dry as you are. Yes, I am about finished with my canning. Can't say I am sorry but sure miss my fresh produce. Had to buy tomatoes today for my hamburger wasn't happy about that. I am so happy with my can shelves in the basement. So good to be able to go down there and pick a can of beans off the shelf. But needed a rest from the garden. Were the fires any where near you? I thought about you and wondered. Didn't remember exactally where you live. Hope you are able to take the trip with the group and do some researching. Getting old is for the birds isn't it??
