Thought you all would like an update on Ryan. Prayers are working as they been through all of this. God will be with Ryan and the doctors in the morning too. Central Daylight Time Subj: Fwd: Monday - Ryan Update Message from: Jonnie Wells Sent to: Landscape at Woods Chapel Church Monday – 7:40 – Ryan Cunningham update from Michelle Cunningham Thanks to everyone!!! Ryan is presently getting settled into his hospital room – 2Henson Room 7 (for tonight) and dealing out all kinds of vinegar to the nursing staff and doctors. When they ask him any questions, his standard response is "What do you think?" (with a smile on his face!) We asked for strength and boy did God provide him plenty. Hopefully, it will carry him through the plan for surgery tomorrow with some to spare for a quick recovery. The plan as we know it from the neurodude: 1. The remnant tumor is surrounded by more fluid than before, so he feels that it should be something he can go after; though he won‘t know totally for sure until he gets in there and sees for himself. Obviously, we really want to get that last piece out without any complications – loss of motor functions, etc. So we need to pray for this success. 2. While he does this "tumor resection" this should "fix" the leak and the "egg pouch" at the back of Ryan‘s head; as he will be doing a new patch, etc. Need to pray for a great condition and easy fix for this part of Ryan‘s head. 3. He said he will most likely look at the shunt and see how it is functioning first and revise it if it needs it. Then work on the tumor resection. (see #1) It would be nice if this surgery doesn‘t have to be done, or at least minimized. 4. At this point he does not feel that a lumbar drain is needed, but that could be done later. We really would rather not have to do that, but we do want the best chance at a solid healing of the back of his head. He thinks Ryan will be in ICU for a day or so after surgery tomorrow, so that is our expectation. We hope that Ryan will come out of the surgery strong and ready to heal quickly. We all have been through this once (if not a few more times), so hopefully the body will remember and rebound quickly!!! With all this taken care of now, it means Ryan can get back to normal life and school much sooner. Blessing, in disguise??? Please pray it is so! We are all feeling very positive, so prayers are being answered; May they carry over into tomorrow and subsequent days to come. He is expected to only need to be in the hospital a few days, according to the neurodude. We will be in the surgery waiting room tomorrow morning. His surgery is scheduled for 8am and we are not sure how long it is supposed to last. We will post another update when we can tomorrow. We love all of you for the incredible love that you are giving us each moment. This has been an amazing journey and at the moment we are flying on Eagles Wings!!! The experience is breathtaking…. Until tomorrow, God Bless Us, Everyone! Michelle and Dana (and Emma and Ryan) Thanks to one and all for spending time in the Chapel Sunday evening – Ryan Time! jonnie
