Well he always would drag one of his friends home and they would sleep on the couch. One never knew who was sleeping over in our house on any given Friday or Saturday night. These boys all knew the first question I was going to ask them, "Does your mother or parents know where your at?" and they all would say yes, that if they were at our house the parents knew they were safe and ok. I call them my boys and they all called me Ma Boyd or Mom when I got on them about something. Two of these boys reminded me how short and uncertain life can be. One of the boys wife who was just 28 died of liver failure recently, brought on by the use of over the counter diet aids. The other one had his gall bladder out and re entered the hospital because of breathing difficulties, they found blood clots in his lungs. Now they are deeply concerned about his heart. He is about 33 years old. Another of my boys home caught on fire via a short in the new fuse box installed. Damage was pretty good , but not unrepairable. Retrieving photos and mementos etc. until too dark to do anything else, another one of my boys gave him a place to sleep that night. Well the neighbor, not proven yet, but has a history of arson, lit the place on fire and it fully engulfed the home. He could not light it on the end where the fire earlier in the day was because of the amount of water and foam they put on it, no he apparently laid down a line of gas out to the hay bales and lit it that way. It's in the hands of the state fire marshall. I cleaned out all my granddaughters too small clothes which fit just perfect for their daughter, plus a practically new winter coat etc.and took it over to them. My boys all know that Ma Boyd holds them dearly and will keep them in my prayers.
