Joyce, I never tried to use the ink refill........My son-in-law used it, and told me it was horribly messy.   So I just ordered the low cost printer ink, and it works in my Hp and my old Lexmark I had.......no problems with them................saved tons of money, as they are really pricey....................samantha I got a new HP printer, scanner, copier recently and haven't tried this on it, but with my old Lexmark printer, I refilled the black cartridges all the time. Never had a problem with it. Never tried to refill the color cartridge. Lexmark cartridges are so expensive so I saved a lot by refilling them. When the black cartridge runs out on the new HP, I'll try refilling it also. (if you do refill, I'd advise working over the sink and wearing rubber gloves.)
