I have belonged to a Homescan Consumer Panel for about 3 years or longer. It's the same company that conducts the AC Nielsen ratings for TV. I scan all my purchases with a scanner provided by them & also answer survey questions about products, stores, etc. Companies hire them to find out how people view their products and what kind of households purchase their products. I also did the TV Nielsen ratings thing also, but gave that up, because Arvil didn't want to wear his little transmitter with him. (It also rates radio programs in your vehicle, also). I get bonus points for sending in my weekly scans & also for answering surveys. I in turn save my points until I have enough to get what I want from their online catalog. I ordered a really nice Sony DVD/VCR unit last fall. Didn't cost me anything. Even postage & handling was free. I also have used points for things in the past. Their new 2009 catalog has some really nice items in it. Makes me wish I had saved my points for some of those items. LOL They also have drawings for give aways, but I've not been lucky enough to win anything from that.
