    1. Re: [DOWN-HOME-CHATTER] Dot Jo
    2. Dot Jo.. you and Larry must be fun to be around as it seems you draw people to your home a lot!! Tell Larry he best listen to Rush a lot because if the government has its way pretty soon there will be no more Rush to listen to. Well probably that guy Alan Colmes (sp) will be free to broadcast since he is a liberal! Oh better get off this subject RIGHT NOW! lol I read on a site that rubbing alcohol is good to remove spots off carpets and it won't stain the carpet.. I have a spot that's got to get taken care but I'm afraid it will turn my beige carpet white.. Anyone of you ever used the rubbing alcohol and can tell me if it really does not leave a white mark on the carpet? Yesterday I got me a fluorescent plant light for my plants.. Now I have to figure out how to get it attached to the bakers stand I am using for a plant stand. It came with two screws that obviously won't do the job... Well, I will ask hubby to figure something out.. I have been using two lamps and they don't put out the right amount of light for my violets to bloom good . . right now I have three blooms in one of the containers ..Speaking of containers !! You should see what I have both of my trailing violets in! I am wicking them and one of them is in two cool whip containers! The other one is in a regular pot but the container that holds the water is another cool whip container! LOL The 2 violets are actually from the one african violet that I brought over from Big Island.. but since living here I was moving furniture around and my beautiful violet fell face down on the floor and I took up the broken pieces and repotted them and now THAT container is the one that is blooming! LOL Looking at my plants.. they are all going to get BIG eventually.. My Christmas cactus has already gone from the pot it came in to a bigger pot and I broke off pieces of the main plant to fill in the empty spaces in that bigger pot.. And that asparagus fern will soon need to be repotted.. Now I don't have but 2 African violets,2 orchids, 1 Christmas cactus, 1 asparagus fern, 3 hens and chicks (in same pot aka cool whip container) and two twigs from a spider plant and a twig of ivy.. Out on the patio is my rose bush in a pot, lilac and bonsai wisteria! I saw so many plants at the store yesterdaythat I wanted to bring home but by golly they were priced a little steep for my old ladies pocketbook. I am getting so anxious to get this move over with (if we do move that is) Living in a basement apartment is a first for me and I don't care for it to be honest.. I took my blood sugar test this morning and nearly croaked as it read 306!! Well I shouldn't be surprised as I was really really bad last night and ate some brownies. I forgot to get me some sugar free stuff and I was wanting and needing something sweet.. Now I am paying for it big time!!
