    3. June, at one time I had big plans when I finished my masters, I had planned on working toward a Psychology degree, or Anesthesia.   Didn't do either one, as we had a little one, that between work and home took up most of my time.............I loved working, and loved all the new things to learn, especially in ER.    When Jim retired from the Western Division in California, we had planned to travel for a while.  Instead, we stopped in to see our daughter, in Colorado, and Jim got really sick.  He had a quadruple bypass.......So, we stayed in Col., for three years, and I had the most interesting job in research.   No pressure, just great learning experience, and working with patients one on one.........Wish I could find something along that line here, but nothing turns up...................There is such a shortage of nurses , I am constantly getting called for jobs, and Hospice, seems to be reaching out to me.   Hopefully, in the Fall, will try it part time.   I have been retired for the last 4 years.......I love it at home, but still miss nursing.................................I am glad you are happy retired, Many in my field are retired and are loving it.   SAM I have worked all over the hospital Sam. Most of my time was spent in Psych though. I was charge nurse on the Mental Health ICU unit for many years. Haven't thought I'd like to go back to work, just enjoying retirement. I have been retired for 10 years the 10th of this monrh. I am a retired RN also. I was educated in California. Got my BS at Long Beach state., then worked towards my Masters. As it turned out I would have graduated the end of May, but had a very surprising pregnancy. Mark was born the 9th of June........I don't think there is many places in hospitals I haven't worked. My first love is Emergency. Was charge nurse at Harbor UCLA for 12 years ER........Surgical nurse, is second best love, then everyone I know loves the newborns.....nursery.........seemed to bounce back and forth from ER to Surgery the most..........When Jim is ok, am thinking about working with Hospice this Fall. I still miss working...................where did you work June? Always glad to find fellow nurses.........................sam. How many are nurses on this list? I know June is retired nurse but what about anyone else? It would be interesting to know what you all did before retiring.. Me..
