    3. WOW !   Does that ever sound familiar.   I am not the oldest.  My sister that came down is 25 months older, then an older brother almost 5 years older.  I am the one in the middle, then I have a younger sister and brother...................My oldest sister is the one that never, never wanted to do anything, and she always got away with it when we were growing up.  I use to do my brothers work, and he would pay me to do the yards, or whatever dad told him to do.........He didn't like work either..................my younger sister is just like I am.  Never stops.....she and I use to go to moms all the time, and do her house and yards, when both mom and dad just couldn't do it any longer.  My older sister would always show up just as we were leaving, and the next day, like you, the house was a mess again....................never understood that, but don't try to anymore.  I am happy we did for mom and dad, and would do it all over again, if they were still with us..................but, like you, not going to help if my sister can help herself................I think she is aging, because she isn't that active.  I told her when she was down here, she needed to get up and move.  She said her leg hurt, her back hurt, she was dizzy, she had a headache.....................I told her it was probably the 5 hour car ride getting down here, and she REALLY NEEDED to get her circulation moving.   She wouldn't even take a walk around the grounds, said the hills were too high.........Hmmm?  I only have a huge hill on the side, and hadn't planned on taking her up there.    I do worry about her, as I don't think Physically , she is doing that hot.  I did talk her into having a physical.  As of last tuesday, she was going to call her Dr.  Haven't heard back yet.   She was the one that cried the loudest , when mom and dad passed.....................  Sam Sam,  I wonder if that comes from being the oldest, I have a baby sister that is the same way.  My middle sister and I would set days and go out and Spring clean my mom's house every year.  The daughter next to me was in Pa. and just come home to visit each year.  Baby sister said you all are crazy working your a-- off for nothing.  Mom was like Larry with the bone on bone in both knees and couldn't hardly get around.  So a week after we had cleaned you couldn't tell it hardly, but at least it started off clean.  Mom didn't like house work but outside work she was in heaven. milked cows, chickens, worked the garden when she was able. hard worker before knees gave out.  But this daughter taught she was owed something and didn't do anything.  The one that cried the hardest and cause all the stink when mom died.  I'm with you I will HELP anyone but sure as heck not going to do it and them sit back.  LOL     Dot Jo ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sam Loudermilk" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 16, 2009 3:22 PM Subject: Re: [DOWN-HOME-CHATTER] Sam Dot Jo, I think it is nervous energy also. Mom always use to say, if you don't slow down you are going to kill yourself..............I thought to myself, if I don't stay busy, I probably wouldn't last long. My older sister, is completely the opposite. She does what she has to do and that is all. She told me when she was down her weekend before last, who does all the yards and gardens? I told her I did, She thinks I 'm nuts, but I love it so..................she invited me up to work in her yards. lol.............told her I would help out in a flash if she wasn't able to but she has 2 strong boys staying with them, and I know they help out...........................When I was so ill, it almost killed me to watch all my hard work just go unchecked. Jim did what he could, but he never liked doing yard work........ He thinks all you have to do is mow....................and he did his best for the year I couldn't do it, then I finally hired someone to do my gardens, and the next day was the day the wild pigs came and pulled everything up in my freshly cleaned gardens. I was so angry I cried................sam Shirley H. you aand I are the same age, I'm like Sam I can't be still. I have heard it's nervous energy I'm best when I am working. Think of too much misforture when I'm idle if I keep my mind occupied don't stress so much. plus every bone in my body gets so stiff I can't move if I don't keep them moving. Didn't get all I wanted to do today but there is tomorrow after Larry's MRI. LOL I had my usual cup of Java this morning, didn't comb my hair just put on bathing suit and a pair of shorts and joined Larry for the usual lawn mowing ordeal. He mows I clip!!!! Run inside every few minutes to grab a load of clothes and put them on the line. Here I sit in the middle of the yard clipping away when up pulls this big white truck. Lady gets out and asks are you aunt Sallie's daughter? It was a first cousin I hadn't seen in about 40 years with her nephew whom I hadn't seen since he was tiny!!!! Sure was glad to see her we had a nice little visit in the middle of the road. Several members of her family had passed away and she didn't know, including my mom. THEN, about 12 grandson informed me he had to leave for work in an hour. Fixed his lunch, packed his dinner then got a call daughters well had gone out. So left everything and Larry and I took off up there to help with that. They got that fixed so I pulled weeds around her flower beds while she took baby for it's shots. Came home, washed luncheon dishes, gathered in clothes, mopped kitchen took a shower and am relaxing before folding clothes and putting them away. Have to can beets tomorrow.
