Shirley H, I looked out this morning and we had a huge frost (not grinning) this was to be a warm up day for us temp in 60's. It was 18 when I woke and I don't think it ever got that warm Sun did shine. very pretty. I have had to start the logs in the fireplace every day for the last two weeks. Grandson checked the heat pump today because it didn't seem to be working. It is over 20 years old so we knew we were going to have to buy a new one. Larry lQQked in the breaker box for some reason and the heat pump had kicked a breaker and hear I had about froze for almost two weeks. Now, with a break in the cold and the heat pump working full capacitiy I'm burning up. Sure glad we didn't have to add a heat pump to the budget!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shirley I can remember growing up with those same things and conditions in OK. Most people were as poor as we were so you didn't realize what life was about. But looking back, those were some of my best days back there growing up in the country. I agree. I grew up in the country & now we live in the country & love it. We see wildlife in our yard & neighborhood all of the time. Have deer, raccoons, skunks, opossums, armadillos, snakes, red & gray fox you name it we have it. Wish we had one of those outdoor wildlife cameras but they are expensive but you can get some really interesting pictures. I am a wondering if there are "Snakes" in my neck of the woods..hope not.? I have been admiring my little squirrel that lives in a tree in the back of our patio area..Saw some new to me birds too.. I am used to seeing tiny little green birds and cardinals over on that nasty ol rock in the Pacific..I have yet to see any hummingbirds ..will they come and feast from the feeder with no red posies around? YES, those were very good days.. not like the rat race we have today.? At least back then Christmas wasn't that big a burden on parents when they play Santa..? I honestly don't know how Maile can afford to get the presents her kids want.. Everything electronic.. Gee, I felt lucky to get a little doll and Christmas candy, nuts and apple/orange. After our lease is up in Sept the rent will go up $17 more dollars.?I remember when my dad retired back in 1959 .. he bought a 3 bedroom house with big yard for $98 a month.. Sorry you frozen your buns off Dot Jo!? LOL At my place we do ring around the roses with the temp gage (what ever you call it) I keep it off in the living room and when Nakai comes in he turns it up and as soon as he leaves I turn it right back off..He keeps the bedroom hot as all get out and I stay out of that bedroom till time for bed and turn it off.? When he gets up to pee he turns it back on.. I do feel for him though as he is losing his hair and I guess that is not pleasant with the cold hitting it.. Me,I have so much hair on my head he could borrow some from me.. Take care! Dot Jo, think of the money you saved when the heat pump didn't work for about 2 weeks. ha. Joyce Larry lQQked in the breaker box for some reason and the heat pump had kicked a breaker and hear I had about froze for almost two weeks. Now, with a break in the cold and the heat pump working full capacitiy I'm burning up. Sure glad we didn't have to add a heat pump to the budget!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dot Jo
