Iron will leave brownish spots but the calcium or to much sodium will leave the white spots on all of the dishes. Also do you use liquid or granular dishwasher detergent??? It could be the granular that is causing it, if that is what you use. Also we had a Septic tank man tell us that if you have a septic tank you should only use liquid detergents as the granules don't all dissolve & it will cause a hard crust on top of the water (it floats on the top) in the tank & eventually it will stop up tour plumbing.
