Joyce, I use to donate blood once a month until I had my first heart surgery & now they won't let me. I were able to donate I sure would because I know how precious a unit of blood is. Naw, I have had heppitas...in the 5th grade but that virus still lives and I don't want to pass it on......That was the way Aids was passed on at first...In blood transfusions...Dangerous to get blood although every one has to at some time.... I know my blood has been used, but I've never been called for bone marrow. I've also given white blood cells an platelets (sp) for leukemia, that took 3 hours with needles in both arms. I would do it again tomorrow if needed!! I've also signed my organ donor card. I want them to use everything they can when I die.
