Oh Jenny, you don't have any idea how I have enjoyed the "FRESH" peaches here after eating the worse tasting ones that were shipped over from the mainland to Hawaii!? I was a fruit nut all this summer!? Only thing I see high over here in the produce area are avacado's.. Wonder why they are so high.. like almost a dollar for ONE!? I can remember my McCartha grandmother on her farm way back yonder days outside?with a huge kettle full of hot water, boiling her clothes and stirring them with a long stick.? And my stepmom had the modern convience of a washing machine..the wringer type.? And that same grandmother used a long wooden box to store blocks of ice as her refrigeration.? She had a well right next to her back porch and an outhouse as well.. I hated that smelly outhouse!? T hought my fanny was too good to sit on that wooden potty when I was visiting her.? I sure did love her feather bed though!? She had a big cast iron stove as well.
