    1. Re: [DOWN-HOME-CHATTER] Welcome Back to Down Home, Shirley H
    2. Hi all that welcomed me back!!? I don't know for how long as this computer sent me a message that it needs a "product key code" .. BTW my Bishop gifted me with this computer back during Christmas but as usual I didn't have funds to get connected to the internet.. Its a used one and has no sound card or whatever you call it but I will take care of that eventually.. just thankful to have gotten this .. anyway, last night two fellas from my church stopped over at the request from Bishop to see how the computer was working and to get me going on the new church genealogy program ( I already knew about it though)? and to make a long story short one of them said a new product key would cost about $250 but he could get me one for $60 But before doing that he was going to talk to Bishop and see if he by chance had that code.. no word yet and so far microsoft hasn't shut me down..Oh boy the life I?have fun fun.. ha !! I had a wonderful SNOWY Christmas and even managed to fall down as I was coming?back from emptying the garbage.. while down I just made some angel wings!? Ha ha!!? then because I hurt my ankle I couldn't get up so I crawled over to the car thinking I could grab onto it and get up .. but no way did I get that done and by then my hands were red as a beet and burning so i just crawled onto the sidewalk and through the door and when I got to the steps leading down to my apartment I held on to the rail and hobbled myself into the apartment!? And stayed in the house for two days!? Nakai borrowed Maile's shovel and made a path for me to walk to get to the car.? Hey, we didn't have snow chains for the tires and Paul had to?come get us to go over to Maile's for Christmas dinner..?he couldn't afford the chains so got cables for the?back tires of his car instead.? The old timers said it was the worse snow storm since 1950!? so next?winter we are going to purchase those chains for the t! ires.. however, everyone said that we usually experience?no snow but I will get prepared anyway! We have a little squirrel that lives in back of our patio and I saw him out for 2 days so that must mean that winter is leaving .. Now about us.. With this bad winter my guy wants to go back to Hawaii.. We had a blow up about THAT.. I said I was NOT going back ..I do feel for him though as he is an outdoors man and hates being stuck in this apartment.? He watches?TV?, eats and reads.. but he isn't interested in anything else except of course ME! LOL We have a nice little apartment.. not big but just right for us.?? I am planning on selling some crafts?at a Christmas Bazaar this November and called the gal in charge .. its first come first served as far as who gets the tables. ($10 fee) This money will be my rainy day money!??I?have finished some crochet projects but plan on doing?other crafts?that aren't in the crochet thingy.. Anyone have any good ideas for me sure?would appreciate them. Dear dad is in?bed watching his TV and I am sitting here in my own solitude!!? I must say I am SOOOO GLAD to be back !! 3. Welcome back, Shirley! It's good to see you posting again. Sounds like you finally are having the snow that you longed for. (grin) Is your computer asking for a product key code for your Windows or for a program like Microsoft Office? If it's for your windows, try looking on the computer tower. A lot of computers have it stamped on the tower somewhere. Mine is located on the top of my tower. Hope you find it on yours! Bobbie

    3. Welcome back Shirley. Good to hear from you. We had very little snow this year. A little on the grass, but nothing on the roads. Also had a little bit of ice, but nothing to worry about. Take care. I think I have an old sound card in my old computer that I was just going to throw away. What software are you using? Windows XP? 2. Hey there!!? Good to hear from you.? Hope you and yours are well and happy!? Looks like this Dell computer was windows XP so says the tower but when turning on it has been upgraded?I guess anyway its a windows vista.? Everyday I take a short walk to the? mail box and it was very pleasant to me..cool yes but I just wore a long sleeved sweatshirt ..We got snow and ice here,? I can see the dangers with the snow and ice.. one thing I learned is to make sure the pantry and refrig is full in case you get snowed in.? I always try to keep a good supply of canned stuff and thank goodness right before we had the heavy snow storm I got us milk to last.. Charles, I know you do canning and I went to a class that was on food preparedness and saw for the first time a mason jar with canned hamburger, chicken.? Since we no longer have a place to do gardening I will just rely on going to farmers market this summer .. Anyway.. take care and aloha to your family.
