Thought you all would like an update on Ryan. Prayers are working as they been through all of this. God will be with Ryan and the doctors in the morning too. Carolyn ____________________________________ From: GroverSAR To: Csg228 Sent: 9/21/2009 8:08:17 P.M. Central Daylight Time Subj: Fwd: Monday - Ryan Update Message from: Jonnie Wells Sent to: Landscape at Woods Chapel Church Monday – 7:40 – Ryan Cunningham update from Michelle Cunningham Thanks to everyone!!! Ryan is presently getting settled into his hospital room – 2Henson Room 7 (for tonight) and dealing out all kinds of vinegar to the nursing staff and doctors. When they ask him any questions, his standard response is "What do you think?" (with a smile on his face!) We asked for strength and boy did God provide him plenty. Hopefully, it will carry him through the plan for surgery tomorrow with some to spare for a quick recovery. The plan as we know it from the neurodude: 1. The remnant tumor is surrounded by more fluid than before, so he feels that it should be something he can go after; though he won‘t know totally for sure until he gets in there and sees for himself. Obviously, we really want to get that last piece out without any complications – loss of motor functions, etc. So we need to pray for this success. 2. While he does this "tumor resection" this should "fix" the leak and the "egg pouch" at the back of Ryan‘s head; as he will be doing a new patch, etc. Need to pray for a great condition and easy fix for this part of Ryan‘s head. 3. He said he will most likely look at the shunt and see how it is functioning first and revise it if it needs it. Then work on the tumor resection. (see #1) It would be nice if this surgery doesn‘t have to be done, or at least minimized. 4. At this point he does not feel that a lumbar drain is needed, but that could be done later. We really would rather not have to do that, but we do want the best chance at a solid healing of the back of his head. He thinks Ryan will be in ICU for a day or so after surgery tomorrow, so that is our expectation. We hope that Ryan will come out of the surgery strong and ready to heal quickly. We all have been through this once (if not a few more times), so hopefully the body will remember and rebound quickly!!! With all this taken care of now, it means Ryan can get back to normal life and school much sooner. Blessing, in disguise??? Please pray it is so! We are all feeling very positive, so prayers are being answered; May they carry over into tomorrow and subsequent days to come. He is expected to only need to be in the hospital a few days, according to the neurodude. We will be in the surgery waiting room tomorrow morning. His surgery is scheduled for 8am and we are not sure how long it is supposed to last. We will post another update when we can tomorrow. We love all of you for the incredible love that you are giving us each moment. This has been an amazing journey and at the moment we are flying on Eagles Wings!!! The experience is breathtaking…. Until tomorrow, God Bless Us, Everyone! Michelle and Dana (and Emma and Ryan) Thanks to one and all for spending time in the Chapel Sunday evening – Ryan Time! jonnie

Jennye, looks like you have everything secured. I don't lock the doors during the daytime, but our son lives next door. Seems like most of the crime in this area is driven by drugs. Everybody looking for drugs or money to buy drugs. Drug Court here is full. Joyce >I seldom lock my doors, but I have close neighbors & my son & grandson live >with me. Oh June mine are locked. ..hearing the bells would give me time to get my trusty Remington LOL Milly WARD Piros We do not inherit the land from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children. Native American Proverb

Shirley, Larry fusses at me all the time because I leave the doors open and unlocked during the day if I'm home alone. But just never worried about it before but think I will start locking during the day. If I'm in the den anyone can walk right in and I would never know it same if I'm in the back bedrooms. Milly, Apparently down here bells would not slow them down. They just push their way in the house. So I try to keep mine locked. Does anyone else have a Meyer lemon tree? I have a 3 year old in a pot. I think it needs pruned. This is the first year it has bore fruit. The fruit is so heavy the limbs are drooping so it needs trimmed before next year. Any suggestions? June
I live in a very small town and we have had several incidents of people walking right in to the house - in the day time. I don't dare even open my windows at night - keep the doors locked even in the daytime. One lady at church had a man knock on the door, said he knew her son. Shoved her out of the way and came in and robbed her house. It is a different time than it was! June
This is going on everywhere. Omaha where I was born and raised is shootings everyday, many result in death. They had two this weekend already. It's just too sad. Nancy
