You have to answer some questions before you can give and hepatitis is one of the things that would disqualify a donor. Joyce, I use to donate blood once a month until I had my first heart surgery & now they won't let me. I were able to donate I sure would because I know how precious a unit of blood is. Marilyn... If it were me I would want a face to face appointment with the Dr. I'd want to watch the facial expression. The eyes and twitches speak volumes. Too easy for them to talk on the phone. Is it possible his hands are tied, so to speak, by your insurance? Example is my neighbor. she's in her mid 50's and has been told by 3 bone Drs that she needs a knee replacement. Her insurance company will not approve the surgery, saying she's too young! Needless to say her Drs are furious. Put the question to him about your insurance. If he says they are no hinderance, then ask him what he has planned to get to the bottom of this. It isn't an insurance issue. I have Medicare & a supplement that picks up everything that Medicare doesn't pay. I just think he is not on track to my problem & is hesitant to order any test. Marilyn, I'm with you I want to know why I feel bad why I had to have a transfusion what caused it etc. I know if you needed that much blood something is taking it and you would have thought he would have kept you and started a battery of test to see what was going on. UNLESS he wanted to get the blood in you and get you feeling better before he started the test. BUT he should have told you that!! It's like they think we don't have sense enough to realize there is something wrong when your blood level drops enough to need a transfusion!! Duh!!!!! any one with 1/2 a brain knows you don't get a transfusion unless your blood level is seriously low and we also know there is a reason it got that low and therefore are going to worry that it is something serious. when do you go back to the doctor??? I have never had to have a transfusion but the blood count has gotten very low, I didn't want to eat or sleep.every thing and every body irritated the crap out of me I just wanted to be left alone. Thanks Jinnye. I have looked up anemia & it's causes & there are so many that it is confusion. I also looked up REVERSED CELL LEUKEMIA it is also confusing. I'm not looking for sympathy nor am I trying to self diagnosis but I want ammo to ask questions as to what is causing all of this. Marilyn, it's the most natural thing in the world to feel negatively and depressed when you don't feel well and especially if you are worried about what might be wrong with you. Most people who haven't been there don't realize how much depression goes along with any chronic or long term illness.   You probably need to see a hematologist. Dr.'s aren't like they used to be. They're not as dedicated. A lot of them are in it for the money, period. They rush them through medical school now and I guarantee you there's no way they can really learn all they study that way.   Sometimes you have to do your own research. You know your symptoms and how you feel more than anyone does. If he knows what is going on then he had better tell us or there will be hell to pay on his part. By law Dr's. are not to with hold information from his patients. He really hasn't done anything to try to find out why this is happening except to run the CBC blood test. I want some testing done that will give us the whys not just simplest answers. I do not feel any stronger today & my head is still pounding & I'm still short of breath the same as before yesterday when they pumped ne full of blood. He said that I would feel better overnight. Marilyn, I didn't realize it had been going on for that long. Maybe he knows what is going on and just isn't saying!! It just might take a while to locate the problem but it sounds like he is testing for the obvouis first. I know it has to be hard on you but like you said God will take care of it in his time.
