I also have a prayer request: A friend is in the hospital fighting for her life from cancer. Her immune system is at a very critical stage so she isn't suppose to have visitors. She had a Granddaughter born on Wed. The couple have been married for 11 yrs. & had given up on having children. What a blessing from God this little girl is. On Friday another of Elian's daughters died of a heart attack at the age of 33. Elian's husband just got out of rehab from having several health problems & has to stay with a cousin as he can't be left alone. This family feels like Satan is trying to break them but they are very strong Christians & will survive all of this. Thanks in advance for you prayers Also My nieces hubby goes to the cancer hospital in Columbia, Mo. Tues to see what his options are. Please keep both him & my niece in prayer. He is only 61 yrs. old. Dot Jo, If we didn't mind our parents, we knew the belt was coming our way.I also use a belt on my boys, slap their rears some with a belt, in they knew to behave. I never beat them just enough to hurt a little. Now I have good grandchildren, all grown now but one, they was made to mind, but most was a good talking did the best with them. But they did get a belt from me on their bottoms. We laugh today about the belt. I love to talk about the way I was raise, in so does my husband. We had to walk to school, in carry a lunch pail with our lunch, no fancy lunch either. All kids from the mining camp, walk the railroad tracks to school. The tracks ran in front of the school, in the train would come loading down with coal, in a lot of black smoke came from the train. Also the train had a car for anyone going out Stearns, Ky. Dot Jo, Prayers are being said for all of your family. He is only 61 yrs. old. All of you remember my granddaughter Karen in Texas. She is married has two small children her husband is supposed to deploy the 9th of Feb. for another tour of duty in Iraq. They came in for Christmas went back along about the 1st had not been home a week until Karen got sick. She just got out of the hospital today, she is paralazed on her left side. They have diginiozed her with non eleptic sizures. She is on a walker, hubby is hoping to reenlist as a active gaurd reserve. They have already taken her driver's permit from her. She has no family near her so he is her only support and help. Please pray for Karen (30 years old) and for their situation. Their little boy is the one that I asked prayer for some time ago. He has inproved but has a long way to go. There is no way she can make it there by herself so we need prayer that God will do what needs to be done for them. Thanks, Dot Jo Also add Susan to the list she has back surgery Wednesday.

Bobbie, Part B is deducted from your S.S. The Medicare Advantage Insurance comes from private companies that are funded by Medicare and offer better benefits than regular Medicare. When we signed up with Humanna in 2006 there was no monthly premium. Then starting in 2009 Humanna started charging a $18.00 a month premium. That is why we are switching to Advantra in March because they have no monthly premiums and actually have better benefits than Humanna does. Any Medicare advantage plan is much better than regular Medicare. Any more question just ask and I will ask Larry. LOl By the time Arvil is ready to apply we may all be looking for something better!!!! Shonda, I'm with you. I didn't live in a mining camp but on a farm. (working farm not a prison farm) although some times it felt like it. LOL My kids would never survive the life I lived even if they HAD to. but I feel like I'm a better person because of the way I was raised. We had pride, we worked for every thing we had. We had morals, I never knew what the word pregnant was until I got married.(the word simply wasn't used, you were in the family way. you stole you were taken along with the merchandice back with an apology, you lied, you begged that persons forgiveness. hard task but you only did it once. OH HOW MY LITTLE EGO WAS WARPED!!!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING COMPARED TO MY LITTLE HIND IN WHEN MOM GOT HOLD OF ME. no I wouldn't change a thing about my rearing. The last election joke! Not Republican or Democrat - Since the presidential campaign is over, I figured some political humor might be in store. The following is a funny and true story shared with me by KC Williams who teaches High School Government. In one of KC's classes, they were discussing the qualifications to be president of the United States . It was pretty simple. The candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age. However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president. KC and the class were just taking it in and letting her rant, but everyone's jaw hit the floor when sh e wrapped up her argument by stating .. "What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by c-section". And someday she'll vote!

From: "Dorothy Bowles" <dotjo1@suddenlink.net> YOU can find all of the insurance companies that offer coverage in the Medicare booklet for 2009. OK. Arvil won't be eligle for Medicare for another 1 1/2 years, so I guess he won't get that book until then. Since Jeannie works for SS, she had told us that there were other plans besides Medicare, but from the way I understood it, one would pay just as much as you would for Medicare. That's why I asked. $18 sounded like a great deal. Bobbie
I, to recall the coal stove my parents had when I was growing up. Mom would cook beans on the stove, then build a fire in the cook stove to finish up supper. Of course we live in a mining camp. A place called Cooperative, Ky in Mom had all seven children at home.In the winter time both stoves was kept going. But you know those was good old days. You never had to lock a door. No kids was in trouble, unless you didn't mind what you was told to do.Would my 3 sons live like I did, no way. They had a life so much better then I did. I wouldn't trade the way I was raise for any thing. I was taught a lot. I didn't know the real world until I grew up.
