Jenny, We had a case a couple of counties over from us last week. A policeman was called out to a disturbance when he got there a teenage met him, papers says officer asked him several times to stop and raise his hands. the teenage kept coming at him so the officer tazed him. the guy went down the officer called 911 the boy died before he reached the hospital. Man, public went wild wanting tazers outlawed!!!! One by stander said why didn't the officer knock him out instead of using the tazer. Can you image what that would have cost the officer? Papers were full of what a GOOD boy this boy was. Laying aside the fact that there has been reports of bad cops, I wondered when I read it what the boy was on. Came out later this Good Boy had several arrests waiting for him, He was drunk, combated and just kept avancing on the officer. In most cases the officers are protecting themselves when they use force. I can't wait to see what is going to come of this one. Are they going to force cops to go out unprotected? People so amaze me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My best friends son was a policeman....One night he got a 911 cal about someone needing a ride.....When he got there it was a felon that had been released from prison...Richard checked him for weapons before he gave him a ride and the guy started running away...Richard yelled halt and the guy turned and shot Richard 5 times hitting him in the liver with a fatal bullet....Richard died...The shooter got a death sentence but the last I heard he was still on death row and had been for 10 years...He was still living last I knew.....I've know of several close friends of mine dying from guns....Usually there is drugs, liquor involved...Sometimes only passion but there are so many other ways to kill and all are used.....No one wants to ban knives, posion, or cars just to name a few.....Jenny "If God is for you", Who can be against you"? ----- Original Message ----- From: MPiros1120@aol.com<mailto:MPiros1120@aol.com> To: down-home-chatter@rootsweb.com<mailto:down-home-chatter@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 18, 2009 3:59 PM Subject: Re: [DOWN-HOME-CHATTER] coded ammo .. If the Gov. would spend more money on building prisons & stop wasting money on stupid bills this country would be so much better off. Milly I'm so sorry about you cousins but coded ammo wouldn't of stopped the murders. Only stricter laws about criminals will ever put a stop to what our families have gone through. Anyone that commits murder isn't worthy of being out in the public. I'll open a can of worms with this one but my opinion of punishment of a murderer is the death penalty with in 60 day of the happening. How did the bas---- get a gun???? That is why I think they should go to trial in 60 days & not waist the tax payers money giving them 3 square meals a day, T.V., exercise programs, libraries, visitors & so forth. Get them out of the system ASAP, not 10 years or so in the life of luxury. Laura, Sounds like you have had an exciting day. Except for that tow bill. I have a fire going too can't seem to get warm enough. It has spit snow/sleet about all day here even though we are in the 30's. All churches around us was closed this morning due to icy patches on the road. Marilyn, I don't think coding or even taking away ones guns is going to stop murder. It is like moonshine wiskey, someone somewhere is still going to make and sell it. It is just another way for the government to make money and control our lives. Until we get judges in office to enforce the law instead of babying criminals nothing is going to help. We, the decent law abiding people will be left defenceless while the criminals will still have guns coded or uncoded. They will be able to buy their guns and steal to get the bullets if the price gets to high. Looks like we might have to go back to the Wild West kind of law!!! If he steals your horse hang em high right on the spot!!!! Marilyn I know the registering of the ammo would not PREVENT someone from murder BUT it would be easy to trace WHERE and WHO purchased it. That was my understanding of the article. You have to show your driver's license when purchased and then coded most likely on the receipt or a computerized cash register???? I agree on the death penalty...also for molesting children... On the molesting of children they should be hung from the highest tree in the town that it happened within 24 hours. That would stop a lot of that crap. The code would only get innocent people in trouble if the ammo was stolen. I don't see how coding the ammo would have saved the life of my nephew. The ammo didn't pull the trigger of that gum the bast--- that pulled the trigger killed him. If the Gov. wants to pass a beneficial law then pass one that would keep criminals in prison instead of smacking their hands & saying " BAD PERSON" This guy was on Supervised Parole for assault w/ a deadly weapon; so why wasn't he behind bars where he couldn't have killed Steven???? If the Gov. would spend more money on building prisons & stop wasting money on stupid bills this country would be so much better off. Milly I'm so sorry about you cousins but coded ammo wouldn't of stopped the murders. Only stricter laws about criminals will ever put a stop to what our families have gone through.
