    2. Oh Jenny, you don't have any idea how I have enjoyed the "FRESH" peaches here after eating the worse tasting ones that were shipped over from the mainland to Hawaii!? I was a fruit nut all this summer!? Only thing I see high over here in the produce area are avacado's.. Wonder why they are so high.. like almost a dollar for ONE!? 2. Hey, wonder if that was the fashion regarding the feather bed ..as my grannie had one in the front "parlor" as well and thats the one I slept in with the fireplace right close by.. I don't remember the starched everything but I do remember her front yard had no grass it was covered in sand ..which she raked everyday and she had old tires painted white and inside those tires she planted her posies..? I remember one time going to the well to get a drink and there coiled up on the part where the dipper was ..was a BIG BLACK SNAKE!? I screamed my head off and took off faster that a rabbit can run! 3. Shirley H if I can find my mom's saurkarut receipe I will send it to you. You can buy you a couple heads of cabbage and this you make in a jar. It isn't as good as what you make in a big crock but everyone here loved it. One man from the church would buy the cabbage and get her to make it for him on the share. It's real easy to make and much better than what you get in the stores. My daughter has always used her 4 boys against me. She talks about me like I'm the worst mother there ever was. Yet, I do more for her than anyone else does and am always there when she needs me until I get enough of her stupid BS! My oldest grandson will be 18 yrs. old tomorrow and hallelujah! I've been waiting for this day for 18 yrs.! She called David and me while we were in another town "trying" to celebrate our 27th anniversary, just to gripe and throw her weight around. First she told me that all the kids were coming to spend the night with me except DJ, the oldest. ( I might add without asking me if I wanted to keep any of them) When I went along with that, she called back and said that I HAD to come get DJ that he couldn't stay there because he had told her off. I told her that I couldn't come get any of them, that I was in Albany celebrating my anniversary with David! He's here with us now. She finally realized that you can lead the horse to the water but you can't make him drink it. She has been living off his disability check, spending it on drugs and that no good husband of hers (until lately). He's had to be her babysitter and housekeeper and doesn't know the meaning of having a dollar in his pocket and he is going to be 18 tomorrow! Now she won't let the 13 yr. old come around me, saying that his behavior gets worse when he's around me. Well, he's been in alternative school for the last 3 yrs. and then even got kicked out of that. Since he's been here, he's out of alternative school as of this semester for the first time in over 3 years! I was taking care of him most of that time. I had him for 3 weeks before she even came here from AR. The Lord will work it out for us, but it surely does hurt and wrecks about all of your peace of mind, if you don't pray especially hard. 3. Karen, so sorry to hear about your problems.Your doctor is right for health sake you do need to get away from the turmoil down there. But as one doctor told me you are just running from the problem and it will be there when you return(like housework) you need to fix the problem and only you can do that. One thing I can assure you of one day that daughter will wake up and realize she needs you more than you need her!!!!! I understand the grandbaby problem, and the love we all have for them and the worry that stems from that love. But it is her baby and unless she is unfit, abusing it etc there is nothing you or anyone else can do. Except pray for it's safety and bide your time. In other words your hands are tied with the baby but the daughter you can tell her to leave and not come back until she strightens up. Hard to do but sometimes that is the only choice we have. will say a prayer for you. AAADD KNOW THE SYMPTOMS.....PLEASE READ! Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder. Somehow I feel better, even though I have it!! Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. - Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder . This is how it manifests: I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing. As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full. So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first. But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first. I take my check book off the table, and see that there is only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke I'd been drinking. I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over. The Coke is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they nee d water. I put the Coke on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table. I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do. At the end of the day: the car isn't washed the bills aren't paid there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter the flowers don't have enough water, there is still only 1 check in my check book, I can't find the remote, I can't find my glasses, and I don't remember what I did with the car keys. < FONT face="Century Gothic" size=5>Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day, and I'm really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail... Do me a favor. Forward this message to everyone you know, because I don't remember who the hell I've sent it to.
