Shirley H. I think I am very lucky. Jim and I were both very busy in the early part of our marriage. Still in school, we were trying to build careers, raise a family, work, and whoever got home first just pitched in and did what had to be done. I planned the menu for the week. Everything for dinner was ready to heat when one of us got home................made things much easier. We helped each other with everything. EXCEPT YARD WORK. Jim would do the laundry, clean house on saturdays if we were lucky enough to both be off. I then, did the yards. I didn't care because I loved it outside..........Jim got really good about the house cleaning.................Now, both retired, we still switch off..........or we help each other..................We never agree on the yards, so he lets me be, and only lends help when I need him with something heavy...He keeps lawn equipment in good running order also.......................it seems to work pretty well. Jim is the calming side for me, and I guess I am his strength when he needs it..............we are very blessed to still be as close as we are. Ups and downs are in all of our journeys through life, but for us, we have usually gotten along pretty well....................after saying this, hope we don't have a battle tonight . lol.................................sam When we had a house Nakai was the gardener etc.. I was the weed puller or if I wanted to do something with the landscape it was just the opposite of what he wanted so I told him what he could do with the gardening landscape and I refused to go do anything else outside except to take care of MY posies. I too love to have a nice looking home etc.. I used to help him lawn mower etc but he sure got my Cherokee/Irish temper and like I said I told him just what he could do with that yardwork! We have always been like that.. If I say apple he says orange..wonder we are still together so long. Sam, I'm the same way. I get up several hours before the rest of my crew and get my house work done. Love that time by myself. Them I'm out for the rest of the day cleaning on the yard or just puttering. Like to stay busy just not overwhelmed which is what happens most of the time!!!! It is just automatic with me. I get up and do what needs to be done inside, then I am out the door...............lol...........always something..........love you, sam. Sam , you are so right, you can't think of your worries and you can't think of your pain so much if you stay busy.....Life is so much better when you have something to do....However housework is no fun...No matter which room we are talking about....It's a nessary evil......Jenny ----- Original Message ----- From: Sam Loudermilk<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 16, 2009 5:10 PM Subject: Re: [DOWN-HOME-CHATTER] Sam WOW ! Does that ever sound familiar. I am not the oldest. My sister that came down is 25 months older, then an older brother almost 5 years older. I am the one in the middle, then I have a younger sister and brother...................My oldest sister is the one that never, never wanted to do anything, and she always got away with it when we were growing up. I use to do my brothers work, and he would pay me to do the yards, or whatever dad told him to do.........He didn't like work either..................my younger sister is just like I am. Never stops.....she and I use to go to moms all the time, and do her house and yards, when both mom and dad just couldn't do it any longer. My older sister would always show up just as we were leaving, and the next day, like you, the house was a mess again....................never understood that, but don't try to anymore. I am happy we did for mom and dad, and would do it all over again, if they were still with us..................but, like you, not going to help if my sister can help herself................I think she is aging, because she isn't that active. I told her when she was down here, she needed to get up and move. She said her leg hurt, her back hurt, she was dizzy, she had a headache.....................I told her it was probably the 5 hour car ride getting down here, and she REALLY NEEDED to get her circulation moving. She wouldn't even take a walk around the grounds, said the hills were too high.........Hmmm? I only have a huge hill on the side, and hadn't planned on taking her up there. I do worry about her, as I don't think Physically , she is doing that hot. I did talk her into having a physical. As of last tuesday, she was going to call her Dr. Haven't heard back yet. She was the one that cried the loudest , when mom and dad passed..................... Sam Sam, I wonder if that comes from being the oldest, I have a baby sister that is the same way. My middle sister and I would set days and go out and Spring clean my mom's house every year. The daughter next to me was in Pa. and just come home to visit each year. Baby sister said you all are crazy working your a-- off for nothing. Mom was like Larry with the bone on bone in both knees and couldn't hardly get around. So a week after we had cleaned you couldn't tell it hardly, but at least it started off clean. Mom didn't like house work but outside work she was in heaven. milked cows, chickens, worked the garden when she was able. hard worker before knees gave out. But this daughter taught she was owed something and didn't do anything. The one that cried the hardest and cause all the stink when mom died. I'm with you I will HELP anyone but sure as heck not going to do it and them sit back. Joyce also I have heard to cover the tick with vaseline thus the tick can't breathe and will back out on it's own. I want the thing off me as fast as possiable and don't take the time to do this. LOL just grab the thing and pull it out!!!!!! know I shouldn't but I do. I'm With Sam going out today and get something to spray the area with. I have black ants, ticks, spiders so need something powerful. Ticks seem to be real bad this year also snakes. All the wet Weather washing them out of their holes I guess!!!!!! Those things come in packs here. There might be 20 or 30. They are very destructive. You can see them at times beside the road where cars have hit them. Just ruin a yard. They got in the cemetery here once and just TORE it up bad!! June

Milly, Tick bites can be very dangerous. I know a lady that got "ROCKY MOUNTAIN FEVER" from a tick bite. She was only about 65 to 68. She thought she had the flu & said there is nothing the dr. will do. He will just tell me to go home & drink a lot of water. Well on the second she hit a temp of 106 & went unconscious. Stayed that way for 6 days. She has some brain damage from the high fever. Take care of that bite & have your dr. check it out. Milly, we have a terrible outbreak of ticks here this year. News reports, and the vet said the outbreak here hasn't been this bad since 1995...............I use deep woods ANYTIME, I go outside.................prevents ticks, fleas mosquitoes, spiders, etc..........anyway, it is the only one that works for me. Plus we spray , pesticides in the areas we are in, and yesterday, found some granules for fleas and ticks, and ants which Jim put down today. It is activated with water. So rain won't wash it away............Remember, Milly, take some tweezers and pull from behind the tick, it pulls the head out this way.........put in jar, and if you get ill, you have the tick for the Dr. We get all kinds of animals coming onto our property, so if they pass ticks off of them, hopefully, all the chemicals we have out will kill them.......................If I find any, I am calling an exterminator, I think they might have the bigger guns than you can buy ....................................sam After walking to my backyard to the garden and back to the house. I went to the bathroom and when I pulled down my drawers, I noticed what I thought was a blood clot....Not I touched it an it moved...I yanked it off which I should not have. Lo and behold it was a TICK....Now I am going to be paranoid everytime I go outside. Gonna have to invest in bug spray. I have to keep an eye on the area to make sure I don't get a rash that looks like a bullseye. Don't know if I yanked it's head off. I don't see it on my belly....I put alcohol on the area and then put the tick on the kleenex and put it in a jar. I probably should call my doctor and see what he says... I have never seen a tick up here. Most likely got it from a deer-groundhog- rabbit or ferrel cats that are always coming in my yard....Oh boy....Leave it to Milly Milly WARD Piros Everyday above ground is a good day. **************Dell Days of Deals!
